Portrait format watercolour depicting the head and shoulders of a woman.
We see a woman looking directly at the viewer but her head is encased in helmet like structure. The helmet resembles a honeycomb through which we see shadows cast onto the face of the subject. The helmet is based on a Radiolaria by Ernst Haeckel.
From the Artist:
The idea about this painting is that we are subconsciously trapped by something we perceive outside of us, but is actually within.
