Landscape format watercolour painting which is very dark overall in hue. Gradually one notices a structure rising up from the base to reveal four curled shiny black prongs. As they twist tightly their lighter inner layer shows here and there. They spray out in a fan shape.  There is a suggestion of a night sky with soft clouds floating beyond.

This specimen which is commonly seen in fields once the seeds have been dispersed reminds me of a mechanical metal object such as a wood drill.
