This is a square format print, developed from a collage which shows some Radiolaria taken from Ernst Haeckle's monograph Radiolaria.  The two Radiolaria are presented as though they are helmets, with eye protection added to suggest they are strange medieval like warriors.  The warrior on the left resembles a Japanese samurai, the warrior on the right resembles a European Renaissance warrior.  Between them there is a strange plant like lance and the warrior on the left has barnacle like shoulder pads.

In the background behind the warrior on the left appears to be rising sprays as though from an explosion.  These two images emerge from a deep black suggesting a night sky.

From the Artist

This image was a collage which was then printed as a photo polymer etching.  This is a classic example of where I see a metaphor in two of these Radiolaria images.
