Roundel Tempera painting on wood 14 inches wide showing a three quarter profile of an angel's head with his right hand raised as if to brush tears from his right eye. We see his flowing Amber locks and behind him part of his wings on each side. Between these two and above his head the background is gold leafed. The folds of his grey/white garment sit around his neck and shoulders.

From the Artist

I decided to include a weeping angel in the installation as certainly angels would be weeping on account of what lay ahead; namely the crucifixion of Christ. I based this image on a painting I had seen in the Medieval section of the Courtauld Institute in London around this time.
